Thanks to all who offered suggestions on my gearbox problems. It appears that I have a dragging clutch. It doesn't drag all the time though. The cable was already pretty taut, and I even tightened it up a bit more. I suspect that the clutch is still breaking in.
Do you recommend use of full-synthetic oil at the first oil change (500 mi)?
